Colborn brings a wealth of knowledge to the Blue Sox with years of experience as a pitching coach in the majors with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and most recently the Texas Rangers as the team’s bullpen coach.

The right-handed Californian played in the majors in a nine-year career spanning from 1969-1978, suiting up for four different organisations (Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners).

He had his best season in 1973, when he became the Brewers’ first-ever 20-game winner and posted a 20-12 record and a 3.18 ERA. In 1977, Colborn no-hit the Texas Rangers 6-0, the first no-hitter by a Royal at Royals Stadium and second overall in that park.

Colborn has a long-standing passion for grassroots baseball and is looking forward to sharing his experiences with a new generation of coaches through Baseball NSW.

Kind regards,
