The Castle Hill Knights Baseball Club 2021 AGM is scheduled for Sun 21st March at 4:00pm at the Castle Glen Community Centre (Forecourt – ie behind Diamond 1)
We would love to see you at the AGM. Attending the AGM will give you a chance to get to know other members of the club, hear about what has been achieved in the last year, a chance to provide any input you may have, and prepare for the future. Ideally, you might also feel inspired to volunteer to help at the club to make baseball at Castle Hill Knights a great experience for everyone, or even join the committee.
As you may or may not be aware, at an AGM positions on the committee become vacant and we elect the office bearers of the club and members of the committee. To nominate for any of these roles outlined in the list below, or as a general committee member please complete the nomination form.
Nominations need to be returned to the club secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org by Saturday 20nd March 2021.
Nominations are made in writing, signed by the member nominating and the 2 supporting members of the club, and once received will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
We do hope that you might join us at the AGM and encourage others to attend. We hope you have enjoyed the 2020/2021 season and will be part of making future seasons even greater.

Trials for the Hills Senior LL team will commence at Knights Field on Sunday the 14th February, 2021 commencing at 1:00pm, they will continue for probably two weeks.
The age range for Senior LL from 1st September, 2004 – 31st August 2006.Hills will be required to enter two teams in this Competition Players must pre-register for all trials.
Registration is to include player’s name, DOB, Club and two preferred playing positions.
The registration is to be forwarded by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday 11th February.
If you have already registered there is no need to re register
To be eligible players must not have changed Clubs or Associations since Season 2019/20, unless providing documented change of Residential Address. Those players who have formal acknowledgement of ‘Friendship status’ are exempt of this Rule.
Players must have played a minimum of 60% of the games drawn in the current Hills Competition.
The situation with Junior LL remains unresolved although we are hopeful of being allowed to enter one team in Junior LL.
The better players in Junior LL may consider trialing for Senior LL as a ‘possible alternative’ Senior LL, that said they would have restricted Pitching limits
If a player misses a trial the selection process will be that if a player ranked above them is cut, then so so will the player who has missed the trial.
It is mandatory that all Parents attending any trial, or any game in Hills sign in on using the Club’s QR Code.
Coaches have not yet been appointed for any of the teams.
It is with great pleasure that we can announce our coaching staff for 1st Grade
Head Coach: Jason Dormor:
JD’s credentials are impressive to say the least.
He played for Mayfield Boomerangs, out of Newcastle, as a junior. He has represented NSW in the U13’s then later represented Australia in the U18’s before moving on to play in the ABL for 10 years!
JD spent almost 10 years coaching junior baseball here at Castle Hill, while also coaching Hills State Cup and Little League Teams.
He then moved on to coaching in State League for a variety of clubs and currently coaches 1st Grade for Baulkham Hills.
He has also coached NSW State teams in the 16’s, 18’s, 23’s and Women’s Teams.
JD is also an assistant Coach for the Sydney Blue Sox, where he has been involved for 8 years.
Assistant Coach: Brendon Wallace:
Brendon ‘Wal” has almost 35 years of coaching experience. It started at Winton Hills Warriors, where he coached from U10’s right up to Triple A’s.
He then began coaching at Castle Hill, where he is still coaching a 16U Team to date.
During his time at Castle Hill, Wal Coached at Hills – where he assisted that team in winning the National title, which landed them at the Little League World Series (Williamsport) in 2017!
Wal has also coached NSW Level, where he was involved with both the BNSW Development Programs and Coaching State Teams… and in case you want to know more.. he also coached the Australian School Boys Team.
Apart from coaching, Wal has played the game at State League Level, playing for Winston Hills, Holroyd Giants, Blacktown and Baulkham Hills.
Wal brings a mass of both knowledge and experience to the game.
Assistant Coach: Phil Hemmer:
Phil also has an impressive resume – as a junior he played for NSW in the 14’s, 16’s and 18’s before he moved on to play Grade Baseball for Baulkham Hills in the summer and Marrickville in Winter.
He has coached a variety of teams for Baulkham Hills and is the Current Grade Head Coach – not to mention a Life Member! he played his Junior career at Baulkham Hills and is moving into his 25th year with the club!
Phil has also been heavily involved with BNSW, as a Head Coach right through to the BNSW High Performance level. There isn’t much Phil doesn’t know about the game!
Welcome aboard Phil.
